Why we know this works!
Using a bariatric manual wheelchair is great for someone who is unable to walk, due to limited mobility, or has weight bearing precautions that were set by a doctor.
The bariatric manual wheelchair has a wider seat and can support more weight than a standard manual wheelchair.
The user can propel themselves using their arms to maneuver the wheelchair rims. This will allow the user to be independent and can decrease the need for caregiver assistance while maneuvering around the home.
This bariatric manual wheelchair has armrests that flip up and out of the way for transfers such as slideboard transfers to the commode, bed, or shower chair.
The wheelchair can be easily folded and transported for use outside of the home.
Choose between standard swing away leg rests or elevating leg rests to help with pain and swelling in the legs/feet.
